Car keys, or key FOBS, follow the rules of performance load as they have significantly reduced cognitive load by providing universal symbols. They have also drastically reduced kinematic load as they no longer require the user to turn the key, simply press a button and all the doors unlock. No more reaching over to the passenger side, getting your key stuck, breaking your key in the lock.

Paypass, or paywave, is this new process of just waving your credit or debit card over a machine and the machine detects your card and takes the fund. This reduces both cognitive load, as you no longer have to necessarily remember your PIN all the time. As well as reducing kinematic load, as you no longer have to enter a PIN code either.

Keyless ignitions have come to automobiles in the last 10 years. They do significantly reduce kinematic load by starting with just the push of a button.
